Hi! I’m Luigi. That’s me on the left, next to my husband.
I am a Filipino ceramicist living in the United States. I was born and raised in the Philippines, where I grew up between worlds. My artistic background began in music and the performing arts, and eventually led to my moving to the United States on a full music scholarship.
My journey into ceramics began in 2022, where I set out to create deeply personal work rooted in my heritage to honor my grandmothers. All my work is thrown on the wheel and is made from my own custom porcelaneous clay while my surface designs consist of inlays and relief carvings.
I draw inspiration from gifts, both literal and figurative, given to me by my grandmothers. I create art to immortalize memories into objects with an airy and heavenly serenity; like a piece of the sky you can hold, a moment in the past you can never return to, or a small gift from someone loved now lost.
